Laura Bushnell – President

Born on a farm in Idaho and absolutely not raised by nuns, I was mostly left to my own devices — which may explain a few things. I talked to animals, argued with invisible friends, and staged dramatic solo performances in the barn. No one stopped me. They were busy.

In my 30s, somewhere between diapers, deadlines, and divine discontent, I met Annie — and she woke me from a deep slumber I didn’t even know I was in. I had three small children and a spiritual calling I was trying to ignore. She looked me straight in the soul and said, “It’s time.” That moment changed everything.

From there, life took on a new rhythm. I moved to California. I started listening to the invisible. I began helping people heal, grieve, grow, and remember who they are. Saints started showing up. So did celebrities. I became a keeper of relics and rituals — all while still knowing how to make a mean peanut butter sandwich.

Now I’m the President of A Council of Mothers, an educational foundation devoted to love, ritual, and self-trust. I still talk to saints. I still whisper prayers. I still believe in magic. And when the timing is right, I’ll be living in Mallorca with Annie — my oldest soul friend — Oliver Dreamer, the noble, enormous service dog who’s walked with me through lifetimes, and Molly Rose, my golden Siberian cat who is (and always has been) absolutely in charge.

Annie Folger - Vice President

Born in Ohio and raised by strict Catholic nuns, I learned early the power to “trust and surrender” — the quiet knowing that I would find my way.

In my 30s, a business trip brought me to California, and the moment I stepped off the plane, I knew I was home. That moment of clarity began a lifelong unfolding — one that deepened my self-awareness and broadened my identity. Within a few years, I moved to California, met Laura and found a spiritual sister with whom to share my hopes and dreams for a loving world.

Along the way, while spending 35 years in corporate and community video production, and developing interactive video for citizen engagement and conflict resolution training, I learned first-hand the value of effective messaging. I am passionate about building community through communication. In the 80s, I authored the bumper sticker “Let’s Put the VISION in Television!”  Today the landscape has shifted – media isn’t centralized in TV anymore. We are the media! It’s time to be the vision we want to see — Let’s create the vision together!

Now I serve as Vice President of A Council of Mothers, a nonprofit educational foundation devoted to love, self-empowerment, and healing. I plan to soon make my home in Mallorca, Spain, where I will continue my work as a sister in service to my human family and to Mother Earth, our shared and sacred home.
